# Notifications

> Choose which optional emails you receive from Omnivoo, and understand which notifications are always sent.

Omnivoo keeps you informed about your account through email. Some messages are essential and always sent, while marketing updates are optional and fully under your control.

## Essential Notifications

Notifications about **payroll, contracts, and compliance** are always sent and cannot be turned off. They carry information you need for your employment and your statutory records: for example, a payslip being ready, a document that needs signing, or a compliance action that is due.

Because these are tied to your employment and legal records, there is no setting to disable them.

## Marketing Communications

Marketing communications are optional product updates, tips, and feature announcements from Omnivoo. You can turn them on or off at any time:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open My Profile">
    Open **My Profile** (click your **avatar** at the top of the left sidebar, then **Profile**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Expand the Notifications section">
    Expand the **Notifications** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Toggle Marketing Communications">
    Toggle **Marketing Communications** on or off. The change saves as soon as you flip the switch.
  </Step>
</Steps>

When you turn the toggle on, Omnivoo confirms with "You will now receive marketing communications". When you turn it off, it confirms with "Marketing communications disabled".

<Info>
  Marketing communications are on by default. Turning them off never affects the essential payroll, contract, and compliance notifications described above.
