> ## Agent Instructions
> Omnivoo is an India-first Employer of Record (EOR) platform. EOR hiring is India only; contractors are supported in 220+ countries and territories.
> Never tell a user to log in with a password. Authentication is passwordless: email OTP, passkeys, Google, or SSO.
> Statutory figures (TDS slabs, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, gratuity) change by financial year. Always state the year the figure applies to.
> Never name a third-party payment provider as Omnivoo’s payment rail. Refer to "our payments partner".

# Org chart

> Set who reports to whom, see your EOR employees and contractors on one chart, move people by drag and drop, manage departments, and choose who can see it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Leave, holidays and org chart aren't turned on for every company. To turn them on for yours, email [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com).

The **Org chart** shows who reports to whom across your company. Your India EOR employees and your contractors sit on the same chart, so a contractor can report to an employee and the other way round.

## Where to find it

Click **People** in the left sidebar, then **Org chart**. (The page URL is `/employer/people/org`.) **View as org chart →** on the [Directory](https://help.omnivoo.com/employer/employees.md) opens it too.

The header names your company, then how many people, EOR employees, contractors and countries are on it. **Chart** and **List** switch between the drawing and a list of the same people. **Export CSV** and **Who can see it** sit beside them.

Anyone on your team who can manage people can change the chart. Everyone else sees it without the controls for changing it.

## Setting it up

Before anyone has a manager, the page reads **Set up your org chart**: "Nobody has a manager yet. Say who's at the top, then who each person reports to, and the chart draws itself."

**1. Say who's at the top**

Usually the founder or CEO. They don't need to be on payroll: anyone on your team can be at the top.

**2. Click Add reporting lines**

A row for each person, with a manager to pick. Someone in a department with a head gets that head suggested.

**3. Save**

**Save 12 reporting lines** saves them all at once and the chart draws itself.

### Upload a spreadsheet

**Upload a spreadsheet** reads a CSV with the columns **Email** and **Reports to**, where Reports to is the manager's email. **Export CSV** gives you a file in that shape to fill in.

Before anything saves, each row says what will happen to it:

| Row | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Ready** | Saves |
| **Already on the chart** | Nothing to change |
| **Manager not found** | Nobody on your team has that email |
| **Not in your people list** | The person is not on your Directory |
| **Would make a loop** | The manager reports to this person, directly or further down |
| **Reports to themselves** | The two emails are the same |

Rows that can't be saved are skipped, and the page says how many.

### People with no manager

Once the chart has started, anyone still without a manager is named in a banner, for example "3 people have no manager yet, so they're not on the chart: Neha Sharma, Rahul Verma and Kenji Sato." **Add reporting lines** takes you to their rows.

## Reading the chart

Each card shows the person's name, job title, department, and whether they are an EOR employee or a contractor, and where. The company owner's card reads **Manager only** when they are not on payroll.

* **2 reports** under a card opens their team. **Expand all** and **Collapse all** open or close every team.
* **-** and **+** zoom out and in, and **Fit** fits the chart to the screen.
* **Top of the org** starts the chart at the top. **My team** starts it at you.
* **Colour by: Department** colours each card by its department. **Nothing** turns colour off.
* **Dotted lines** shows who also reports to someone else, for project or matrix work.

**Find a person** searches names, job titles, departments and countries. **Department**, **Worker type** and **Country** narrow the chart, each with a count.

## A person's panel

Click a card to open the person's panel. It shows who they report to and since when, anyone they also report to, when they started, their department, and their direct reports. **View profile** opens their profile.

## Changing someone's manager

**1. Click Change manager on their panel**

The dialog reads "Change Priya Nair's manager".

**2. Pick the new manager**

Anyone on your Directory or your team members can be a manager. The person's own reports can't be picked.

**3. Choose the date**

**From** is today or earlier. Their old reporting line closes on that date, so you can still see who their manager was before.

**4. Click Save change**

A message says "Priya Nair now reports to Meera Iyer." with **Undo**.

You can also add a second manager under **Also reports to**. A dotted line grants no approval rights.

### Drag and drop

On a computer you can drag a card onto someone else's card. The bar at the top reads "Drop Priya Nair on their new manager. You'll confirm the date next." Press **Esc** to cancel.

Letting go opens **Move Priya Nair to Meera Iyer?** with the date to confirm. Their direct reports move with them and keep reporting to them. If they already also reported to the new manager, that dotted line is dropped, because the new manager becomes their main one.

You can't drop someone onto themselves, onto anyone below them, or onto the manager they already have.

## Departments

Click **Change** next to the department on a person's panel to put them in a department, start a new one, or take them out of one. **Manage departments** lists every department, where you can rename one, set or change its head, and delete one once nobody is in it.

A head is suggested as the manager of new people in their department.

## Who can see it

**Who can see it** chooses between:

* **Only you and your team members** - people who sign in to this employer account.
* **Your EOR employees too** - they see it in the employee app.

Employees see names, job titles, departments, countries and who reports to whom. Never pay, email or onboarding status, and they can't change anything. See [My team and org chart](https://help.omnivoo.com/employee-self-service/my-team.md).

## Export CSV

**Export CSV** downloads one row per person: Name, Email, Job title, Department, Reports to (the manager's email) and Since.

## On a phone

The chart opens one manager at a time. Tap someone to see who reports to them, and the line at the top takes you back up. **Filters** opens every filter in one sheet. Drag and drop is only on a computer.

## Frequently asked questions
