# Leave and Holiday Policy

> The leave and the fixed holidays you get as an employee of Omnivoo in India, if your offer letter includes the Leave and Holiday Policy.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Leave and the holiday calendar only show if your employer has them turned on. Your employer can turn them on by emailing [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com).

The Leave and Holiday Policy sets your leave and your paid holidays when Omnivoo employs you in India.

## Who it applies to

It applies to you if the **Leave** section of your offer letter lists Annual Leave, Casual and Sick Leave and Menstrual Leave. Every offer letter Omnivoo sends now includes it.

If you joined before the policy, nothing changes for you. Your leave and holidays stay as your offer letter set them.

## Fixed holidays

Four days are paid holidays every year:

| Date | Holiday |
| - | - |
| 26 January | Republic Day |
| 1 May | Maharashtra Day |
| 15 August | Independence Day |
| 2 October | Gandhi Jayanti |

If you are asked to work on one of them, you get double your wage for that day and another day off.

Other festivals are not fixed holidays. Take them as Annual Leave.

## Annual Leave

* **15 days a year.**
* In the year you join, you get a share of the 15 days for the part of the year left from your start date, rounded to the nearest half day.
* Days you don't use carry forward to the next year, up to a balance of **45 days**.

## Casual and Sick Leave

* **8 days a year**, one allowance for both casual and sick days.
* In the year you join, you get a share for the part of the year left from your start date.
* Days you don't use by 31 December lapse. They don't carry forward.

When you are unwell, request **Casual and Sick Leave**. There is no separate Sick Leave.

## Menstrual Leave

* Women get **1 paid day each calendar month**.
* You don't need to give a reason or upload any documents.
* A day you don't use that month doesn't carry forward, and isn't paid out.
* A request has to start and end in the same month.

## Other leave

Maternity leave and any other leave the law gives you are in addition to this policy. Where the law gives you more than the policy, the law applies. See [Special Leave](https://help.omnivoo.com/leave-management/special-leave.md).

## Where you see it

* **Leave** > **Leave** shows a card each for Annual Leave, Casual and Sick Leave and, for women, Menstrual Leave. **Request Leave** offers only those types. See [Requesting leave](https://help.omnivoo.com/leave-management/requesting-leave.md).
* **Leave** > **Holidays** shows the four fixed holidays for any year. See [Holiday Calendar](https://help.omnivoo.com/employee-self-service/holiday-calendar.md).
* If you manage people, **My team** shows **Annual left** and **Casual and sick left** for anyone on the policy.
