The Country Compliance Guide provides detailed employment law, tax, and regulatory information for every country Omnivoo supports. Use it to understand local requirements before hiring in a new country or to stay current with existing workforce obligations.

Filtering by Tier

Countries are organized into two tiers:

Use the tier filter to view only Fully Supported countries if you are planning to hire immediately.

At the top, four summary cards provide key facts:

Employment Details

This section covers the core employment law requirements:

  • Minimum wage -- Statutory minimum pay (monthly or hourly, in local currency)
  • Standard work hours -- Weekly and daily limits
  • Overtime rules -- When overtime applies and the required premium rate
  • Notice period -- Minimum notice required by law for termination (often varies by tenure)
  • Probation period -- Typical or statutory maximum probation duration

Leave Entitlements

A breakdown of mandatory leave types:

Leave entitlements shown are statutory minimums. You can always offer more generous policies. Omnivoo tracks both statutory minimums and your company's custom policies.

Tax Information

Tax rates that affect your cost of employment:

  • Employer tax/contribution rate -- Social security, pension, health insurance, and other mandatory employer contributions as a percentage of gross salary
  • Employee tax/contribution rate -- Deductions from the employee's gross salary for statutory contributions
  • VAT/GST -- Applicable value-added tax rate for the country

Compliance Notes

Free-text notes highlighting important compliance considerations specific to the country. These may include:

  • Unique employment contract requirements
  • Data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR in EU countries)
  • Mandatory benefits beyond the standard categories
  • Recent or upcoming regulatory changes

Compliance Requirements List

A structured list of all compliance requirements for the country. Each requirement shows:

Pay close attention to requirements marked as mandatory with upcoming deadlines. Missing statutory filing deadlines can result in penalties.

Using Country Guides for Hiring Decisions

Before hiring in a new country, review the Country Guide to understand:

  1. Total cost of employment -- Base salary plus employer taxes and mandatory contributions.
  2. Leave obligations -- How much paid time off you must provide.
  3. Termination complexity -- Notice periods, severance requirements, and any restrictions on dismissal.
  4. Ongoing compliance burden -- How many filings, registrations, or reports are required.
