The details for your form are collected in the Identity & tax details step of onboarding, and your form is prepared there. You do not sign it during onboarding. Signing is a separate to-do task on your contractor dashboard called Sign your tax form, and it only becomes available once your identity verification is approved.
Which form you complete
The form is chosen automatically from your country and, for contractors outside the US, whether you are an individual or an entity (a company). You make that individual-vs-entity choice in the Identity & tax details step of onboarding.Your Country may be pre-set and locked by your employer. When it is, it shows “Set by your employer” and you can’t change it. Your individual-vs-entity choice is still what decides whether you sign a W-8BEN or a W-8BEN-E.
You do not pick the form by name. Omnivoo shows you the right one and pre-fills what it can from the identity details you already provided.
W-9 - US person or US business
The W-9 applies if your country is the United States. It collects:- Your name (and a business name if you have one).
- Your federal tax classification, chosen from: individual / sole proprietor, C corporation, S corporation, partnership, trust/estate, LLC, or other. If you choose LLC, you also indicate whether the LLC is taxed as a C corporation, S corporation, or partnership. If you choose other, you describe the classification.
- Your address (street, city, state, ZIP).
- Your taxpayer identification number (TIN).
W-8BEN - non-US individual
The W-8BEN applies if you are an individual based outside the US. It collects:- Your name.
- Your country of citizenship. Your country of permanent residence is not asked separately: it is taken from the single Country field you entered with your identity details.
- Your residence address.
- Your date of birth.
- Your foreign tax identifying number (foreign TIN).
W-8BEN-E - non-US entity
The W-8BEN-E applies if you are a company based outside the US. It collects:- Your entity name.
- Your entity type (for example, corporation, partnership, or trust).
- Your country of incorporation or residence.
- Your residence address.
- Your foreign tax identifying number (foreign TIN).
Signing and timing
Signing happens after the onboarding wizard, not inside it.1

The signing task stays hidden until your identity verification is approved.
3

Once it is approved, a Sign your tax form task appears in the to-do list on your contractor dashboard. Open it to sign electronically, with no printing or scanning. Once signed, the form is complete and stored on your account.
