In the Omnivoo app for iPhone and Android, you can turn on unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint. Your phone then stays signed in for up to 90 days, and each time you open the app it asks for Face ID or your fingerprint instead of an email code.
This is only in the iPhone and Android app. In a browser, sign-in works as described in Session management, and passkeys are the quickest way back in.

Turn It On

Right after you sign in on your phone, the app asks Unlock with Face ID? (or Touch ID, or fingerprint, depending on your phone). Tap Turn on. It only asks straight after a sign-in, because Omnivoo only accepts a new unlock within a few minutes of signing in. If you tap Not now, it stops asking on that phone. To turn it on later, sign out and sign in again, then tap Turn on when asked. Your phone needs Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint set up in its own settings first. If it has none, the app never asks.

When the App Asks

Once it is on, the app asks for Face ID or your fingerprint:
  • when you open it after it was closed,
  • when you come back to it after 5 minutes or more in the background,
  • when your session would otherwise have ended, for example after a long time away.
Confirm it and you carry on where you left off. If it does not recognise you, try again from the Unlock button, or tap Sign in another way to sign in with an email code, Google, Apple, or a passkey.

How Long It Lasts

When you are asked to sign in again, the app offers to turn unlock back on afterwards.

Is It Safe?

Your face and fingerprint never leave your phone, and Omnivoo never sees them. When you turn unlock on, your phone makes a key that is locked inside its secure hardware and can only be used after Face ID or your fingerprint. Each time you unlock, the phone uses that key to answer a one-time question from Omnivoo, and only then does Omnivoo let you back in. So copying the app’s data to another phone, or restoring a backup, does not carry your sign-in with it. The key stays on the phone you turned it on from. Signing out anywhere, signing out other sessions, or changing your two-factor settings ends the session the unlock belongs to, and the app then asks you to sign in again.
