Payout Methods and Withdrawing From Your Wallet
If your payouts land in a wallet, you first tell us where to send the money by setting up a payout method (also called a beneficiary), then withdraw from your wallet whenever you like. You do this from the Wallet card on your contractor dashboard, and you can also set your payout method during the payout step of onboarding.
Setting up your payout method
The payout methods you can choose from are the ones available in your country, which is resolved automatically from your account. Only methods that are currently active are shown.
- Pick a payout method. Common types include a bank transfer, ACH (US bank), SWIFT, mobile money, and a proxy method.
- Pick a currency (a three-letter ISO code such as USD) when the method offers more than one.
- Fill in the fields for that method. The exact fields are driven by the method you chose -- for example, an ACH account asks for the bank name, account name, routing number, account number, and account type. Some fields are choices you pick from a dropdown, and some are grouped together (for example an address, a phone number, or a beneficiary id).
- Confirm the account holder name. This is prefilled with your legal name.
- Choose Save payout account.
If no payout methods are available for your country yet, you'll see a message asking you to contact support.
A saved payout method is required before you can withdraw from your wallet.
Your wallet balances
Your wallet holds a balance for each currency you're paid in. Each shows the amount available to withdraw now, plus any amount still processing (settling and not yet available). A brand-new wallet may show no balances until it's first used.
Withdrawing
To move money out, enter an amount and review a preview before confirming. The preview lays out the whole transfer:
| Line | What it means |
|---|---|
| Source currency | The currency the amount leaves your wallet in. |
| Recipient currency | The currency your payout account is paid in (it can differ from your wallet). |
| Fee | The withdrawal fee, charged in the source currency. |
| Exchange rate | The rate from your wallet currency to your payout currency. It's 1 for a same-currency transfer. |
| Net amount | The amount leaving your wallet after the fee. |
| Estimated received | The amount your payout account is estimated to receive. |
The preview moves no money -- it's just a summary. The withdrawal only happens when you confirm it.
A withdrawal is rejected unless you have both an approved identity verification and a saved payout method. See Verifying your identity.
