Adding a payout account is not part of the onboarding wizard. Onboarding is four steps: Terms of Service, Identity verification, Identity & tax details, and Documents. You add your payout method afterwards, from the Wallet card on your contractor dashboard.
Setting up your payout method
The payout methods you can choose from are the ones available in your country, which is resolved automatically from your account. Only methods that are currently active are shown.1
Pick a payout method
Pick a payout method. Common types include a bank transfer, ACH (US bank), SWIFT, mobile money, and a proxy method.
2
Pick a currency
Pick a currency (a three-letter ISO code such as USD) when the method offers more than one.
3
Fill in the fields for that method
Fill in the fields for that method. The exact fields are driven by the method you chose. For example, an ACH account asks for the bank name, account name, routing number, account number, and account type. Some fields are choices you pick from a dropdown, and some are grouped together (for example an address, a phone number, or a beneficiary id).
4
Enter the account holder name
Type the account holder name. This field starts empty, so enter the name exactly as it appears on the receiving account.
5
Save the payout account
Choose Save payout account.
A saved payout method is required before you can withdraw from your wallet.
Your wallet balances
Your wallet holds a separate balance for each currency you’re paid in. Each shows the amount available to withdraw now, plus any amount still processing (settling and not yet available). A brand-new wallet may show no balances until it’s first used. Balances are never added together. A EUR balance and a USD balance stay two separate amounts, and there is no combined wallet total. You only need one payout account. The same saved account receives every currency balance, so you do not need a EUR account to be paid a EUR balance. Where your balance currency and your account’s currency differ, we convert the withdrawal and show you the rate before you confirm.
Withdrawing
You withdraw each currency balance on its own, and each withdrawal carries its own fee and its own exchange rate. To move money out, enter an amount and review a preview before confirming. The preview lays out the whole transfer:
The preview moves no money: it’s just a summary. The withdrawal only happens when you confirm it.
If we can’t price the withdrawal, it stops with a message rather than going ahead on a guessed rate:
A withdrawal is rejected unless you have both an approved identity verification and a saved payout method. See Verifying your identity.
