AI Assistant

Omnivoo AI is an AI-powered assistant built into your employee portal that answers questions about your employment, salary, taxes, and benefits. Instead of searching through payslips or waiting for HR to respond, you can ask a question in plain English and get an accurate answer based on your actual payroll data.

How to Use the AI Assistant

Step 1: Open the Assistant

Click the AI Assistant button in the navigation bar at the top of your employee portal. A chat panel will slide open on the right side of the screen -- the page content shrinks to make room, so you can continue interacting with the rest of the portal while chatting. The navigation bar collapses to icons when the panel is open to save space.

The assistant is available from every screen -- you do not need to navigate to a specific section. If you refresh the page while the chat panel is open, it will remain open with your conversation intact.

Step 2: Ask a Question

Type your question in the text field, or select one of the suggested questions that appear when you first open the assistant. You can ask in natural language -- there is no special syntax required.

Step 3: Review the Answer

The assistant pulls data from your actual employment records and payroll history to generate a response. Answers typically appear within a few seconds.

The chat uses smart scroll -- if you scroll up to read older messages, it will not jump you back down when a new message arrives. Instead, a "New message" indicator appears so you can continue reading at your own pace and jump to the latest message when you are ready. Older messages load automatically as you scroll up, so your full conversation history is always accessible.

What You Can Ask

Here are some of the most common questions employees ask, along with what the assistant will show you.

Salary and Payslip Questions

"What's my PF balance?" Shows your Provident Fund contributions -- both the employee portion (your deduction) and the employer portion (your company's contribution) -- along with your UAN (Universal Account Number).

"Why is my take-home less this month?" Compares your two most recent payslips side by side and explains exactly what changed. This could be a tax adjustment, a new deduction, a change in variable pay, or an updated investment declaration.

"What is HRA?" Explains any salary component in plain language and shows the actual amount on your payslip. Works for any component -- Basic, Special Allowance, Professional Tax, ESI, and others.

Tax Questions

"Compare old vs new tax regime" Simulates your tax liability under both the old and new Indian tax regimes using your actual salary and investment declarations. Shows you which regime results in lower tax so you can make an informed choice.

Leave Questions

"How much leave do I have?" Shows your current leave balance broken down by type -- earned leave, sick leave, casual leave, and any other leave categories your employer has configured.

Separation and Settlement Questions

"How much will I get if I resign?" Estimates your full and final settlement amount, including prorated salary for days worked, leave encashment for unused leave, gratuity (if eligible), and the impact of your notice period. This is an estimate based on current data -- actual settlement amounts are calculated by payroll at the time of separation.

Privacy

The AI Assistant can only access your data. It cannot see other employees' salary information, leave balances, or personal details. Every query is scoped to your account only.

Limitations

The assistant provides estimates and explanations based on your current payroll data. It is not a replacement for official documents. For anything that requires a formal record -- such as tax filing, loan applications, or government submissions -- refer to your payslips, Form 16, and other official documents available in your portal.

The assistant does not have access to future payroll data that has not yet been processed. Questions about upcoming months will be based on projections from your current salary structure.

Getting Help from a Human

If the assistant cannot answer your question, or if you need help with something that requires action (like correcting a payslip error or updating your personal details), it will suggest escalating to the Omnivoo support team. You can also reach support directly through the Help section in your portal.
