Labour Welfare Fund (LWF)
The Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) is a small statutory contribution that funds welfare activities for workers (such as housing, education, and medical support). It is collected by the state government from both the employee and the employer.
How LWF Applies
Omnivoo employees work remotely and are treated as Maharashtra-based for statutory purposes, so the Maharashtra LWF applies:
| Contributor | Contribution | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Employee | ₹25 | Half-yearly |
| Employer | ₹75 | Half-yearly |
LWF is collected twice a year, in June and December only. In all other months, no LWF is deducted.
On Your Payslip
When LWF is collected, the employee contribution (₹25) appears as a separate Labour Welfare Fund deduction line on your June and December payslips. Because it is half-yearly, you will not see this line on payslips for any other month.
The employer also contributes its share (₹75) as part of your overall employer cost. This is not deducted from your salary.
What You Need to Do
Nothing. Omnivoo calculates LWF automatically, deducts the employee share in the June and December payrolls, and deposits both shares with the state authority. There is no action required from you.
