The Product Tour and Setup Checklist

When you first land on your employer dashboard, Omnivoo helps you find your footing with a short guided tour and a getting-started checklist. This guide explains both.

The Product Tour

The first time you sign in, a spotlight tour walks you through the dashboard in four fixed steps. Each step dims the screen and highlights one part of the layout with a tooltip card.

StepIt highlightsWhat it says
1The sidebar navigationYour command center -- move between employees, payroll, compliance, and settings from here.
2The hire buttonCopy depends on your onboarding goal (see below).
3The getting-started checklistGetting started -- the steps to set up your team.
4The chat buttonMeet Omni -- your AI assistant for payroll, taxes, and compliance.

The second step changes with the goal you picked during onboarding:

  • Hire full-time employees (EOR): titled Hire your first employee, inviting you to add your first India employee while Omnivoo handles contracts, payroll, and compliance across all 28 states.
  • Pay contractors directly: titled Invite your first contractor, where you set the terms and watch a live preview of the localized contract build as you type. Your contractor signs first, then you counter-sign.
  • Both: titled Add your first person.

Each tooltip card shows progress dots, a title, a short description, a Skip tour link, and a Next button (which reads Got it! on the final step). You can also press Escape to skip the tour at any time. Once you finish or skip it, the tour does not replay.

The Getting Started Checklist

Your employer home shows a Getting started card with an X of Y complete counter and a progress bar. It tracks a few first tasks:

  • Set up your company -- shown as already complete once your workspace is configured.
  • Connect bank account -- described as "Required for payroll disbursements". This item appears only when bank setup applies to your account.
  • An add-a-person task worded for your onboarding goal: Hire your first employee for EOR, Add your first contractor for paying contractors directly, or Add your first person if you do both.

Completed items are struck through. Clicking an item that is not yet done takes you to the page where you can finish it. When every item is complete, the card shows "You're all set!" with a Dismiss button to tuck it away.

The Get Started Checklist

Some dashboards also show a Get Started checklist that you work through by hand. It lists role-specific steps, each with a checkbox you tick yourself and an arrow that jumps to the matching page.

For employers:

StepWhat it covers
Complete company profileAdd your company details and logo, in Settings.
Hire your first employeeAdd an EOR employee in India.
Configure payrollSet your payroll frequency and payment method.

note

The Get Started checklist tracks steps you mark complete yourself, rather than reading your real account data, so tick each one as you go. Your progress and whether you dismissed it are remembered per account, and the checklist hides once every step is done.

What Omnivoo Remembers

To keep these aids from getting in your way, Omnivoo remembers whether you finished the tour, whether you dismissed a checklist, and whether you have visited your Compliance page. You see each one only until you are done with it.
